Our spalted maple rectangular natural edge wooden cutting boards are cut to follow the original line of the tree. Though rectangular in form, each board retains its natural edge along one side, preserving the shape the maple once held.
The spalting runs across the surface in dark, organic lines formed within the wood long before it reached the workshop. No pattern repeats. Each board carries its own movement and contrast.
Available in six sizes ranging from 8 inches to 21 inches, these rectangular cutting boards cover a range of uses. The smaller sizes work well for slicing fruit or serving cheese. Mid-sized boards handle daily prep. The largest boards provide ample surface for bread, carving, or arranging a full spread at the table.
Each spalted maple rectangular natural edge wooden cutting board is hand-finished and sealed with our food-safe blend of beeswax and mineral oil. The surface is smooth. The weight feels steady on the counter. The natural edge remains intact, connecting the finished piece back to the tree it came from.
Solid hardwood. No laminations. Made to be used and washed by hand.
