Walnut is dark, rich, and steady — chocolate tones streaked with lighter grain. In the harvest form, we add side handles carved straight into the wood. Handles carved into the sides make the bowls easy to lift and pass. One day it’s carrying a salad, the next it’s bread for the table. Walnut’s weight and curve give them substance, so they feel both practical and grounded when you set them down.
The smaller sizes stay in constant rotation — fruit on the counter, a side dish at dinner, bread when you’ve got company. The larger bowls pick up the bigger jobs. Greens for a gathering, roasted vegetables, or enough food to anchor the meal. Walnut’s deep color sets off whatever it holds — bright produce, grains, even loaves of bread — everything looks sharper against it.
Each harvest bowl is turned by hand in Gill, Massachusetts, from salvaged walnut logs. Trees that would otherwise go unused are reclaimed and shaped into something that lasts. The inside is sealed with a food-safe oil, meant to stand up to daily use. Strong enough for now, steady enough to be passed down.
