Measuring 21 inches across, this jumbo maple burl bowl is hard to overlook. It has the size for buffet service, the presence for a centerpiece, and the character to stand alone as a display.

Each one begins as a solid piece of reclaimed maple burl, its natural curves guiding the shape from the start. The pale maple is streaked with contrasting grain, quilting, and the occasional flame figure. Inside, the surface is sanded smooth enough for serving, while the outer edge keeps the rugged form the burl grew in. A light coat of food-safe oil preserves the tone and texture without covering them up.

Full of food or standing empty, it keeps its place in the room without having to compete for attention.
