Oak has always been known for strength and steady grain. Here it’s given a sharper look. Each bowl is turned square, the inside left natural, the outside darkened with an ebonized finish. Light against dark, pale oak against black — the contrast is simple but bold, modern without losing the honesty of the wood.
Smaller sizes end up on the table daily: fruit, bread, or a handful of snacks. Larger bowls lean toward salads or roasted vegetables, or they sit empty as display. The square shape gives them presence — edges and lines where you expect curves — so they stand out even when used for something ordinary.
Every bowl is made in Gill, Massachusetts, from salvaged oak. Logs that might have been wasted are reclaimed instead, turned by hand, and finished with a food-safe oil. The process keeps the grain visible while protecting the surface, making a piece you can use, keep, and hand down.
