At ten inches, this small live edge cherry burl wood bowl fits almost anywhere — in the center of a small table, on a countertop, or even by the entryway as a handsome catch-all. The rim follows the natural shape of the burl, dipping and rising just enough to make every piece different. The grain swirls unpredictably, mixing warm cherry reds with flashes of gold and the occasional knot.
We work with cherry burl that’s been reclaimed from local trees — rare pieces that don’t come around often. The outside edge is left just as the burl formed, while the inside is worked until it’s smooth enough to serve from. The surface gets a light, food-safe treatment to help it last through years of use without losing its natural feel.
For serving berries, holding a side salad, or simply sitting out on its own, this one pulls more than its weight.
