This 15-inch live edge cutting board is a good everyday size—easy to pull out, easy to put away. It works well for slicing fruit, herbs, or sandwich fixings, and it doesn’t take over the counter when space is limited. Some people use it as a small serving board, especially for cheese or citrus at the bar.
Ambrosia maple is known for its pale base and soft gray streaks. Those markings are left behind by a beetle that once moved through the tree, creating patterns that can’t be replicated. Each board carries its own set of lines and variations.
We shape these boards by hand in our Massachusetts workshop, paying attention to the natural edge rather than forcing it into a straight line. After sanding, we finish the surface with a food-safe oil that brings out the grain and protects the wood.
It’s a simple board, made to be useful, with just enough character to stand on its own.
