This 10-inch black walnut bowl doesn’t try to impress—but it does. The dark wood has a quiet kind of beauty. You’ll notice it in the subtle shifts of tone, the streaks, the grain that runs deep. Every one is a little different. That’s the point.
We shape these bowls slowly in Massachusetts. No rush, no machines doing the heavy lifting. Just a lathe, steady hands, and time. Once it’s smooth, we finish it with a food-safe oil to bring out the grain.
It’s not flashy. But it’s useful. Toss in some nuts. Hold a small salad. Leave it on the table because it looks good, even when it’s empty.
