Each board starts as a reclaimed slab of spalted maple. As the maple ages, dark lines and markings develop naturally through the wood, creating patterns that vary from piece to piece. We keep the shape straightforward and let the natural edge follow the original line of the tree.
Every board is sanded by hand and sealed just enough to protect the surface while keeping the grain visible. It’s practical, but never plain.

Our mineral oil has a beeswax base that adds beauty and protection from everyday wear and tear. Beeswax conditioners help prevent wood from drying out as well as from absorbing too much moisture.
Prolonged exposure to water can cause damage; please do not submerge in water or place in the dishwasher.
Common mistakes include letting old fruit and vegetables rot at the bottom of a bowl (this may stain) or putting wood in the oven.
