Twelve inches puts this medium live edge cherry burl wood bowl in the sweet spot — roomy enough for a pile of fruit or salad for four, but not so large it takes over the table. The rim traces the burl’s original form, with small dips and turns that frame the smooth interior.

Each bowl comes from a single piece of locally reclaimed cherry burl. We keep the outer edge natural, while the inside is shaped and sanded to a fine, comfortable surface. The grain patterns twist and break in unexpected ways, and no two are even close to the same.

It’s as practical for serving at dinner as it is for adding character to a room when it’s sitting empty.
