This 14-inch large maple wood burl bowl has the space for a generous salad, a heap of roasted vegetables, or fresh bread for the table. The rim rises and dips along the burl’s natural line, making every outline distinct.
We work with maple burls from New England, salvaged from trees with unusual grain and color. The lighter tone of maple lets its features stand out — from gentle waves to bold flame patterns. The inside is worked until it feels comfortable in the hand, ready for whatever you’re serving. Around the rim, the burl’s natural edge is left as it grew. We seal it with a light, food-safe oil so the wood keeps its natural tone and texture.
It’s a piece that earns its place at the table and doesn’t fade into the background, whether you’re using it for a weeknight dinner or setting it out for guests.
