Description
This jumbo spalted/ambrosia maple harvest wooden bowl with handles measures a full 21 inches, made for the biggest gatherings and most impressive spreads. The oval shape offers plenty of serving space, while the solid maple handles give you the balance to carry a main-course salad, a stack of baguettes, or a platter’s worth of vegetables.
We work with reclaimed maple from trees that have come down naturally or been retired here in New England. Over time, spalting leaves dark, wandering lines through the pale grain, so no two bowls ever turn out alike. In the shop, we craft each piece start to finish, smoothing the surface and sealing it with a food-safe oil that keeps the maple’s natural character in view.
It works as well in motion as it does at rest — carrying a salad to the table, offering bread along the buffet, or sitting in the middle as an unfilled showpiece.
