The process leaves the texture visible under the finish — not flat, but alive. In the round form it’s simple, balanced, and quietly dramatic.
These bowls hold their own on the table. The smaller ones are easy for fruit, snacks, or a side dish. The larger bowls turn into workhorses — family salad, warm bread, or vegetables pulled from the oven. Against the dark surface, bright food stands out: greens, citrus, roasted roots. Each piece is hand-turned in Gill, Massachusetts, from salvaged oak. Logs that might have been discarded are reclaimed, finished with a food-safe oil, and carried forward in the New England woodworking tradition. Built to be used daily, but with the presence to stay in the room when empty.
