Every wooden bowl starts with a log carried in from the mill yard. Some turn smooth and round, others keep the oval edge of the tree, and a few end up with small handles worked into the form. Nothing is rushed — the wood decides.
Cherry darkens as the years pass, walnut feels dense and cool in the hand, maple can streak with pale lines or carry the tracks of beetle marks. Oak shows itself in different ways, sometimes two tones in a single piece. We leave those marks in place.
People use our hand-turned wooden bowls every day. A small one might hold berries by the window. The largest wooden bowls can carry a whole salad or sit on a table as the centerpiece. Each is finished with our food-safe oil blend, so it’s ready for years of use.
